Winter School: Hanyang University & UTS immersed in a Cultural and Educational Journey

De Vinci Higher Education welcomed Korean students from Hanyang University and Australian students from the University of Technology, Sydney. Their presence marked a partnership fostering cross-cultural exchange and academic exploration. Through this initiative, students not only had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of French culture but also engaged in hands-on projects and language learning.

A two-week project unfolded in the heart of Paris in a collaboration between De Vinci Higher Education, Hanyang University from South Korea, and the University of Technology Sydney from Australia.

This initiative, which blended cultural immersion, academic exchange, and technological exploration, aimed to foster international understanding and academic enrichment among students from diverse backgrounds.

A Cultural Fusion and Academic Collaboration: A Two-Week Odyssey in Paris

For two weeks, 42 students—29 from Korea and 13 from Australia—embarked on an enriching journey at De Vinci Higher Education. Their itinerary was designed to offer a holistic experience, from cultural excursions to academic sessions and language courses.

The project was part of a longstanding partnership between the participating universities to promote cross-cultural exchange and academic collaboration.

Winter School: The Programme

The program started with a warm welcome breakfast, allowing students to meet the organizing team and gain insights into the upcoming activities.

Led by teachers researchers Bérengère Branchet, Walter Peretti, and Jean-Philippe Lelièvre, founder of Hear and Know, and with ESN De Vinci’s help for the organisation, the students were guided through a series of engaging activities, including a campus visit, French language classes, and academic sessions.

The visit to the De Vinci Higher Education Campus and the Fablab was noteworthy, underscoring the intersection of technology and creativity in modern education.

Academic Rigour, Innovation, and… Paris!

Amidst the cultural immersion, academic rigour remained paramount. Students delved into course sessions covering diverse subjects, including French language and culture.

Notably, the program aimed to integrate technology into learning through innovative projects such as developing a treasure hunt and showcasing the fusion of tradition and modernity in education.

The power of immersive learning

As the two-week project drew close, the participants departed with a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity, newfound friendships, and a wealth of academic insights.
