Welcome to Paris! International Students Get Together at Orientation Week

International exchange and degree-seeking students who chose Parisian engineering school ESILV to study for a semester or more have seized the opportunity to take part in a welcome week to settle in their new campus and in Paris.

Coming from South Korea, Spain, Canada, China to name but a few, some of the international students have arrived in Paris late August.

Starting a new semester or year at ESILV

Pôle de Vinci’s International Relations team gave presentations for students to gather useful information about the engineering school and about French administrative processes.

These workshops aimed to provide newcomers with everything they need to settle in their new campus and in Paris. Academic digital tools, housing benefits, transportation cards, social security and more. They were given their welcome packs and ISIC student cards.

On September the third, international student association VIT organized a campus tour followed by an after-work drink. Association president Jennifer Scemama-Selander, ESILV Class of 2020 and vice president Lucas Jacq, EMLV Class of 2019 have already planned events together with their team.

They will invite international students on tours of Paris to make sure they miss none of the must-see landmarks: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum and the Arc de Triomphe overlooking the Champs-Elysées. Other events will be organized throughout the year.

Studying abroad in Paris: English-speaking programmes in a French engineering school

ESILV welcomes international students for a semester or a year, as exchange students from partner universities, but also degree-seeking students who wish to follow courses in the Master’s programme.

Exchange students may join the undergraduate or the graduate programmes. The Master’s degree’s first year is taught exclusively in English, the second year offers classes both in French and English. Students may join one of the four graduate programme majors.

International students with a Bachelor degree may also apply for ESILV’s Master’s Programme and obtain a state-accredited Master’s degree in engineering in two years.

Whatever programme they choose, international students will all benefit from ESILV’s one-of-a-kind educational project. Teaching in small groups, team work, project-based teaching methods and unique interactions with fellow business school EMLV and digital school IIM, which share the same campus in the heart of Paris-La Défense business district.
