Engineers are everywhere. Filling the roles of advisers, decision-makers, project managers, and designers, they play important roles in projects.
Engineerings may work in contracting firms, as private consultants or academics on an engineering faculty. The sky is the limit. We may even find them operating in an NGO as part of their involvement in conflict-laden contexts like civil, hydraulic, electrical, transport, mining, petroleum, and agricultural. This ability to work in multidisciplinary teams is interesting to further explore.
First, A Dive Into the Fields of Engineering
The engineering sector is broken down into sub-disciplines all of which have their own importance in society and can also be found as the backbone of ESiLV graduate school of Engineering, remaining loyal to the historical accuracy of the main branches while staying up to date with the modern technological advancements that are in high demand.
ESILV’s Master’s program trains future engineers with strong scientific and technical bases and a real professional experience, who are opened to the world and prepared for the challenges of tomorrow’s industry.
- The 2-year Master program is based on the major courses, advanced & complex industrial projects and professional & personal development courses.
- The majors are : Financial engineering & Quantitative finance, Actuarial science, Fintech, IoT & security, Data & Artificial Intelligence, Modeling & computational mechanics, Industry 4.0, Energy & sustainable cities, Health Engineering & Biotechnology .
To be highlighted that the role in engineers Aerospace Engineering in the design of aircraft, spacecraft and everything concerning flight has been remarkable at a very young age at ESiLV:
Trip Down Memory Lane: Their Role in Revolutions
The first engineers focused on military technology, designing weapons, such as sword and catapults, and sturdy medieval castles. Later they expanded their scope of work by designing roads, bridges, dams, electric lights, internal combustion engines, computers — the conveniences of our modern lives.
Compared to the engineers of today? They are solving the problems of the 21st Century, cleaning the environment and enhancing the world in which we live. Their role as problem solvers is highlighted in this era because they are using their knowledge of science, mathematics, logic, and appropriate experience to find suitable solutions.
The Highlight of this Era…
In Medicine and Biology: Modern medicine has been able to replace several of the body’s functions through the use of artificial organs and can significantly alter the function of the human body through artificial devices such as, for example, brain implants and pacemakers. That’s how some engineering disciplines view the human body as a biological machine worth studying and are dedicated to emulating many of its functions by replacing biology with technology.
This has led to fields such as artificial intelligence and robotics. There are also substantial interdisciplinary interactions between engineering and medicine.
