Each year, research institute Universum publishes a list of the most attractive employers for French engineering school students. Conducted on a sample of 15 000 students, this ranking gives insight on the attractivity of a hundred companies.
Where do engineering students from France dream of being hired in 2018?
Once more,aeronautics and digital are the sectors engineering students prefer the most. On the 2018 ranking podium, Airbus Group, Google and Thales. The runners up, ranking fourth and fifth, are Safran and Dassault Aviation.
Universum Institute, a specialist of employer brands, asked engineering students to select a “Top 5 employer” out of 130 companies. Students taking the survey also had the possibility to give company names that were not included in the list, which explains why new companies appear in the Top 100 every year.
The survey was administered between October 2017 and February 2018. Engineering students were asked about their three top business sectors. They also answered questions about their salary expectations, work environment or career objectives.
The latest Universum ranking shows a sharp rise in the attractivity of banks and financial companies. In spite of its absence from the top 10, the bank sector has progressed the most within the top 100. JP Morgan went up 15 ranks, Goldman Sachs moved up 13 places, BNP Paribas 12 , Société Générale 6 and HSBC 4.
After completing their five-year course, many ESILV engineering students are hired in the aeronautics, digital and finance sectors.
