Téodora Soit-Vizante class of 2021, from ESILV to Scuderia Ferrari F1

Téodora Soit-Vizante, class of 2021, has traced her path from ESILV to Scuderia Ferrari F1. Her adventure began with an application to the Ferrari F1 Engineering Academy. This arduous recruitment process led to a six-month internship and a permanent contract in the ERS (Energy Recovery System) department. Learn more about her talent, her commitment as a Systems Engineer in this department, her career path and her dreams.

A Digital Modelling & Mechanics major graduate, she also obtained a double degree at Coventry University

This international experience led to a Master of Arts in Automotive and Transport Design, aligning with her love of the automotive world.

The Ferrari Challenge and daily life at the Scuderia

Téodora has an all-consuming passion for cars, and Formula 1 in particular. Ever since she was a child, she spent Sundays watching Grand Prix races with her family, instilling in her a love of the noise of engines, the aerodynamics of cars and the excitement of victory. This passion was the driving force behind her choice to become an automotive engineer.

Since April 2023, Téodora has worked at Scuderia Ferrari F1 as a Systems Engineer in the ERS department.

One of my greatest wishes is to win the F1 championship with Ferrari, not just once,” says Téodora.

Her role involves being involved both upstream of projects and in their day-to-day monitoring in an environment where every day is unique and stimulating.

A typical day for me starts with a good cup of Italian coffee (laughs). Every day is different from the last. After all, the F1 championship takes place all year round, with a race almost every other weekend,” says Teodora.

Teodora knows the cars must be ready for anything and as competitive as possible.

Other ways of getting involved in mechanics

As well as her passion for F1, Téodora cultivates a taste for discovery. She loves exploring new technologies and environments and meeting new people. Travelling has always been at the heart of her life, broadening her professional and personal skills.

Finally, drawing occupies a special place in my life. I’ve always loved drawing, creating robots and mechanical objects,” says Téodora.

This creativity blossomed as part of her Master’s in Design, enabling her to merge engineering and Design, two fields that she sees as complementary.

The Digital Modelling & Mechanics major and Téodora’s student career path

At ESILV, Téodora specialised in the Digital Modelling & Mechanics major

Involved in several student associations, she took part in the 4L Trophy as soon as she entered the school and then played a crucial role in Vinci Eco-Drive and DeVinci Junior.

Her involvement in these associations has shaped her development at ESILV and strengthened her leadership and project management skills.

The choice of ESILV and its impact on her career

For Téodora, the choice of ESILV was motivated by its academic quality, international partnerships and the diversity of its associations. The ecosystem formed by the schools in the Pôle Léonard de Vinci (ESILV, IIM, EMLV) encouraged interdisciplinary exchanges, strengthening Téodora’s student experience.

As a high school student, I had a vague idea of what I wanted to do, namely, ‘automotive design engineer’, but ESILV helped me to formalise my project. It gave me the keys to getting there!

ESILV has played a decisive role in shaping her career by offering her an education focused on digital technology, new technologies, hybridisation, and innovation.

Teodora’s message to students

Téodora advises students to make the most of their student years, to explore new passions, and not to fear failure. She encourages them to get involved in a variety of projects because it’s these experiences that will shape their future.

Make the most of your student years! Give it your all! They’ll be the ones that shape your future and the ones you’ll never forget. Make the most of your student years. Try new hobbies, try new subjects, try it. The student years are when you can afford to stumble and make mistakes without risk. So why not try something new?

Téodora’s journey at ESILV illustrates the importance of exploration and commitment in building a successful career.
