Cadence, class of 2024, a rising senior at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, shares insights about her internship experience at the Institute of Future Technologies at De Vinci Higher Education. For the second time, an MIT student enters the Institute for Future Technologies through the MIT-France program as an intern and researcher under the MISTI program.

Exploring international opportunities and engineering innovation
From 2 to 6 months, MIT-France students do internships and research at leading companies, research labs, and universities in France as the IFT of De Vinci Higher Education. The IFT allows students, doctoral students, and teacher-researchers to evolve in a shared space that favors sharing knowledge and learning by doing.

Cadence is part of the Resilient Futures Group at the IFT, which develops sustainable and resilient technologies, embracing long-term climate change perspectives. Researchers in this group explore both alternative materials and Low Tech methodologies.

Cadence highlights the collaborative and hands-on nature of both MIT and ESILV, where students can explore diverse avenues and engage in concrete projects.
