Between 2022 and 2024, De Vinci Higher Education has been part of the SUCCESS project in partnership with the Technical University of Dresden, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, and the Riga Technical University.
To extend the impact of this initiative, we are making available the “Public Speaking Handbook for Engineers,” a practical guide designed to help engineers and professionals refine their public speaking skills.

Enhancing Communication Skills and Pedagogical Innovation for Engineering Students
The SUCCESS (Solutions for Unified Communication Competences for Engineering Students and Specialists) project was sponsored by the European Commission. It consisted of four separate editions, each hosted in a different partner country.
Its objective was to help students develop a set of skills that would boost their confidence and ability to convey knowledge in an engaging and interactive way while also establishing a common European competency framework and to encourage the use of creative learning and teaching methods by offering learner-centered curricula.
Project SUCCESS: an intensive training and networking activities programme
Project SUCCESS brought together 100 students and staff from four different countries for five days of intensive training and networking activities.
It provided an opportunity for students from diverse cultural backgrounds to share their personal and professional experiences. During the course of the project, more than 25 ESILV students participated in one or more of the different activities.
In the effort to disseminate the projects results, we published the “Public Speaking Handbook for Engineers”, which allows readers to follow the public speaking process step by step. The Handbook breaks this process into speech planning, design, and delivery and explains the range of choices while emphasizing the importance of understanding your audience.
All types of engineers, as well as non-engineers, will appreciate this roadmap to successful public speaking.
