ESILV has been awarded the “Welcome to France” label, which certifies the quality of the welcome for international students. Currently, only 29 engineering schools out of more than 200 existing establishments in France have been labelled by Campus France as part of this programme.
This label awarded by Campus France was created as part of the “Welcome to France” programme to attract more foreign students to France. It promotes higher education institutions that have implemented arrangements for receiving international students.
ESILV is one of the 102 institutions awarded the “Bienvenue en France” label following the latest labelling committee bringing together the institutional conferences (CPU, Cdefi, CGE), the Hcéres, the CTI and Campus France.
Only 29 French engineering schools out of more than 200 hold this certification, which guarantees a quality recognised and certified by the French government.

Quality criteria for the reception of international students
The “Welcome to France” label describes practical measures and actions directly relevant to international students’ everyday lives in France and helps them manage their arrival and administrative procedures.
The assessment focuses on twenty indicators divided into five main themes:
- The quality and accessibility of information
- The quality and accessibility of student reception facilities
- The availability and quality of teaching support staff
- Housing and quality of campus life
- The post-graduate follow-up system
Among these quality criteria identified by Campus France there are several initiatives that the ESILV has taken: the creation of an English version of the corporate website, an electronic application system for international students via the Leonardo da Vinci global admissions platform, integration events organised by the international relations department, courses taught in English, support for entrepreneurial initiatives thanks to the Devinci start-up incubator, a network of alumni that also integrates international students…
Taught exclusively in English, the 4th year of the engineering cycle allows students to acquire the fundamentals of the chosen major, and at the same time instils intercultural awareness in the participants.
The “Welcome to France” label validates ESILV’s pedagogical project, which is rooted in an international perspective to nurture students’ personal and professional projects and produce engineers with a multicultural sensibility and multiple foreign experiences.
