ESILV becomes a founding member of the AMA (Association des Masters en Actuariat)

The Association des Masters en Actuariat aims to bring together the various member courses, particularly the schools and universities offering actuarial training programmes, including ESILV with its actuarial major. It promotes mutual development, fosters collaboration, and stimulates their shared commitment to the actuarial sciences and risk management.

The AMA organised conferences and round tables at the Gustave Eiffel University (Marne-la-Vallée site) for its official launch in mid-June.

Risk management in an uncertain world in

Risk management is increasingly in demand in an uncertain world in transition. Actuarial mathematics plays a fundamental role in meeting the challenges of demographic change, health risks, climate change and the energy transition. Actuarial mathematics can be used for modelling and decision-making to ensure our societies are more resilient.

The Actuarial Science major at ESILV trains Actuarial Engineers to master actuarial techniques, data analysis, data science and risk modelling. Graduates are highly sought after by insurance, finance, consulting and auditing companies.

These sectors are undergoing major transformation, with significant regulatory, prudential and accounting changes. Using data science and machine learning, actuarial engineers provide practical solutions to complex problems.

The AMA’s objectives

The AMA’s mission is to unite these training courses around a typical project aimed at their mutual development, cooperation, and commitment to actuarial science development.

The AMA and ESILV are working to create a national network to promote, develop and strengthen education and research in actuarial science and risk management.

They work together to train and integrate students professionally, which is essential.

Strengthening education and research in actuarial sciences

As a result, the AMA supports and coordinates the development and recognition of its members through its educational offerings.

The AMA federates master ‘s-level actuarial training courses through a national network aiming to promote, develop and strengthen actuarial science education and research.

The AMA also has a LinkedIn group where students, graduates, and lecturers from AMA member courses, such as ESILV, can share information such as internship or job offers, CVs and actuarial events that may interest other group members.
