Demonstrating France’s Attractiveness for Engineering Studies

According to the annual CDEFI (French Engineering School Directors’ Conference) study, some 48,000 international students were enrolled in engineering schools, representing over 20% of the total, with 4% of intra-EU nationals and 16% of non-EU nationals. Moreover, half of all Specialized Masters and PhD students are foreign.

Regarding internships abroad, 40% of students in engineering schools have completed international internships and professional integration. In addition, some fifty schools, including ESILV, are involved in campuses worldwide.

CDEFI’s 2024 panorama of engineering schools

Each year, the CDEFI (Conférence des Directeurs des Écoles Françaises d’Ingénieurs) publishes its annual panorama of French engineering schools, which reviews the data for each institution over the academic year.

These figures provide an overview of their activities and key development themes: enrollments, admissions, graduates, international activities, research, and professional integration.

The “Panorama 2024 des écoles françaises d’ingénieurs” video underscores these strengths and explains why France remains a premier choice for aspiring engineers.
