The ACM Digital Library, the most extensive database in computer science, is now available for free access to ESILV students as part of the “Digital Learning” package. This resource allows for search and text mining of the full range of data published by the Association for Computing Machinery.
Founded in 1947, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest academic and scientific computing society.
ACM Digital Library, a comprehensive resource for computer science research
Nicolas Travers, a professor and researcher at ESILV and head of the Digital Group at the De Vinci Research Center, explains how this new digital database can help advance knowledge in computer science.
“The ACM is an international association for research in computer science; it is both a publishing house for journals and conference proceedings, but also aassociated with scientific conferences.
Students may be interested in deepening their knowledge of the course, understanding new approaches or concepts. In addition, some of the specialisation courses include the study of scientific articles so that students will understand the research ecosystem through this extensive database.
Among the publications co-authored by Nicolas Travers, accessible on ACM Digital Library, we can find
- “FiND: a real-time filtering by novelty and diversity for publish/subscribe systems”,
- “TDV-based Filter for Novelty and Diversity in a Real-time Pub/Sub System”
- “RoSeS: a continuous query processor for large-scale RSS filtering and aggregation
Studying computer science at ESILV engineering school
ESILV is a Grande École of generalist engineering at the heart of digital technologies, offering ten majors as part of the engineering cycle.
Students who have a professional project in the IT and digital sector can choose between 2 ESILV majors that meet the growing needs of society in terms of the design of connected objects and services and data processing.
The Computer Science, Connected Objects and Security major trains engineers to work in all digital sectors as hard and soft IoT engineers, security engineers, IT systems security managers, full-stack developers, etc.
The Data & Artificial Intelligence major trains specialists in data, both big and small, from its collection, modelisation and storage to its interpretation and analysis. Among the career options, data scientist, data engineer, data scientist, big data developer, AI engineer…
